Tae Kwon Do offered at Zoar UMC is Christian-oriented and family-centered. The Zoar Tae Kwon Do group is affiliated with the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, the Naval Post-Graduate School Tae Kwon Do Association and the International Fellowship of Christian Martial Artists.
Tae Kwon Do is a defensive martial art that originated in Korea over 20 centuries ago. Tae Kwon Do consists of sharp, strong, linear movements combined with free-flowing movements to provide a balance of beauty and power. The components of Tae Kwon Do are blocks, kicks, punches, strikes, sparring, self-defense, and forms. The guiding tenets of Tae Kwon Do are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.
All of our Zoar UMC Tae Kwon Do instructors are black belt level athletes who volunteer their time in service to God and community. Our classes meet Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The minimum age for participation in Tae Kwon Do at Zoar UMC is 7. Persons of all ability levels are welcomed.

We continue to heed the lessons John Wesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel.
As you explore our church, you may feel compelled to lend a helping hand, to contribute, or just to be present in a way that helps others. We welcome you to what we feel it is to truly be Christian. Every 5th Sunday throughout the year, Zoar becomes the hands & feet of Christ and we go out into the community to serve others. Zoar is dedicated to making sure there is a variety of ways to share God’s Love with others – here in our church, our community, our country, and the world.
Every year Zoar has an awesome Relay for Life team! We do fundraisers throughout the year as we fight & celebrate with others during the annual Relay for Life event at the Gwinnett County Fairground.
